Low energy protons as probes of hadronization dynamics

چکیده
Energetic quarks liberated from hadrons in nuclear deep-inelastic scattering propagate through the medium, interacting with it via several processes. These include quark energy loss and interactions of forming hadrons. One manifestation these is enhanced emission low-energy charged particles, referred to as grey tracks. Induced charges as probes of low energy effective theories
We suggest that the correspondence between gauge theories strongly coupled in the infrared and their low energy effective theories may be probed by introducing topologically non-trivial background scalar fields. We argue that one loop expressions for the global charges induced in vacuum by these background fields are in some cases exact in the fundamental theory, and hence should be matched in ...
متن کاملCoordinate noncommutativity as low energy effective dynamics
Abstract Coordinate noncommutativity, rather than being introduced through deformations of operator products, is achieved by coupling an auxiliary system with large energy excitations to the one of interest. Integrating out the auxiliary dynamics, or equivalently taking ground state expectation values, leads to the desired coordinate noncommutativity. The product responsible for this noncommuta...
متن کاملTHE LOW ENERGY FRONTIER: probes with photons
I discuss different aspects of the phenomenology of hypothetical sub eV mass particles arising in the context of extensions of the standard model. I focus on a simple extension based on an additional U(1) gauge symmetry and its corresponding gauge boson, called “hidden photon”. Kinetic mixing with the standard photon leads to photon-hidden photon oscillations that are searched for in laboratory...
متن کاملHadronization and Quark Probes of Deconfinement at RHIC
1 We discuss experimental features of identified particle production from nucleusnucleus collisions. These features reflect hadronization from a deconfined partonic matter whose particle formation scheme is distinctly different from fragmentation phenomenology in elementary collisions. Multi-parton dynamics, such as quark coalescences or recombinations, appear to be essential to explain the exp...
متن کاملKaon decay interferometry as meson dynamics probes.
We discuss the time dependent interferences between KL and KS in the decays in 3π and ππγ, to be studied at interferometry machines such as the φ-factory and LEAR. We emphasize the possibilities and the advantages of using interferences, in comparison with width measurements, to obtain information both on CP conserving and CP violating amplitudes. Comparison with present data and suggestions fo...
